Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that the Nerazzurri will “play every match to win” in the Champions League.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, ahead of tomorrow’s round of sixteen first leg clash with Atletico Madrid.

Inter are now just over 24 hours away from returning to action in Europe.

Two months ago, the Nerazzurri sealed qualification for the Champions League round of sixteen for the third season in a row.

But things only get more difficult from here.

Now, the knockout rounds are upon Inter. The team know that any mistake could cost them dearly, with the margin for error now nonexistent.

And the quality of opposition will only get tougher.

That is evident in the fact that Inter are facing a very formidable Atletico Madrid team in the round of sixteen.

But Nerazzurri striker Marcus Thuram is in a confidence mood about what the team are capable of.

Marcus Thuram: Inter Play Every Match To Win In Champions League

Thuram said that “Atletico are a very strong team.”

“They have great players,” he continued.

“We’ve prepared for this match calmly, training the way we always do.”

“It’s true that they’ve always been known for being a team who defend deep. But now they play well in possession.”

Of Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, Thuram said that “He’s a teammate of mine with the French national team.”

“He’s an incredible player, and guy.”

“It will be a great match,” Thuram added.

The Inter striker continued that “Every match makes me grow.”

“Whether it’s in the Champions League or the league.”

“It will be very tough playing against an Atletico team who will be coming to the San Siro for a win. But it’s wonderful playing in matches like this.”

Thuram made clear that “When we play matches like this, they’re always opportunities. We play every match to win.”
