Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta feels that this Inter Milan group has experience, and a great coach in Simone Inzaghi.

The executive spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of the team’s Champions League showdown with Atletico Madrid this evening.

Inter are going to need to call on all their quality if they want to get a result against Atletico this evening.

The Colchoneros are formidable opposition.

And it is not just technical or physical quality that Inter will need to have.

The Nerazzurri are also counting on the mental and tactical attributes against a team who have a lot of experience and a high level of comfortable on the big European stage.

But Inter have that too. The Nerazzurri reached the Champions League final last season.

And, like Atletico, Inter have a coach who has a particular knack for negotiating knockout ties.

Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi, like Atletico’s Diego Simeone, has often proven to be the man for the big occasion.

Beppe Marotta: Inter Have Experience, Inzaghi A Great Coach

“This is a group that has been together for a number of years,” Marotta noted.

“They’ve gone through difficulties. And above all, they have experience, which is the most important factor.”

“Then there is also the sense that everyone has that they belong here.”

“And the coach has also been growing by leaps and bounds,” Marotta said of Inzaghi. “Now, he is a great coach.”

“These are all factors that can bode well for us in the immediate future.”

And asked what he thinks Inter must fear most about Atletico, Marotta replied “The quality that they have in possession.”

“In contrast to in previous years when they focused totally on defending.”

“Today, they’re a more confident team,” the Nerazzurri CEO added. “It will be a good match.”
