Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram could be set to skip the club’s next few matches after sustaining an injury against Atletico Madrid.

The 26-year-old felt pain in the thigh while firing a shot late in the first half of Tuesday’s Champions League encounter.

The Frenchman then left his place on the pitch for Marko Arnautovic who eventually scored the solitary goal of the first-leg clash.

Thuram underwent medical tests this morning to reveal the extent of the injury. The results detected a muscle elongation in the right thigh adductor.

However, the official statement didn’t provide a recovery timetable. It only mentioned that the player’s condition will be monitored on a daily basis.

Nevertheless, Sky Sport Italia (via FcInterNews) expects the striker to return to action in around 15 days.

Therefore, the France international will definitely skip the club’s next two Serie A fixtures against Lece and Atalanta.

The Nerazzurri travel south to take on the Giallorossi at the Via del Mare Stadium this Sunday. They will then host La Dea at San Siro next Wednesday.

Inter Milan Star Marcus Thuram Could Be Out Of Action For 15 Days

However, Thuram could make a return in the following fixture against Genoa. Simone Inzaghi’s men will be hosting the Grifone on March 4th.

Another possible return date could be the clash against Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara on the following weekend.

Lega Serie A has yet to determine this fixture’s exact date and time, but it should ensue on Saturday, the 9th of March.

This will be the club’s last stop before the decisive return fixture against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Therefore, a return against Bologna would allow Thuram to regain his match pace ahead of the crucial European tie.
