Goalkeeper Emil Audero could get a start for Inter Milan against Lecce on Sunday, with Yann Sommer dropping to the bench.

Italian news outlet Pazza di Fanta report that Sommer has been suffering from some flu-like symptoms. If the Swiss does not recover, then he will miss a Serie A match for the first time this season.

It has already looked very likely that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will rotate his team on Sunday.

The coach has not made that many changes from match to match since the start of January.

But this is the period when the matches really start to pile up for Inter.

The Nerazzurri will face Lecce in Serie A this weekend, just five days after coming up against Atletico Madrid in a Champions League round of sixteen first leg match.

And then, a mere three days later, Inter will host Atalanta in another league outing.

So there will be some changes to the team, undoubtedly. But one big change could be the result of illness as well.

Audero Could Start For Inter Vs Lecce – Sommer Suffers Flu-Like Symptoms

According to Pazza di Fanta, Inter keeper Sommer has been suffering from illness.

Flu-like symptoms have kept the 35-year-old out of training.

And if these do not subside soon, then Sommer will stay behind while the rest of the team travel to Puglia for Sunday’s match.

That would mean missing a Serie A match for the first time since Sommer joined from Bayern Munich.

Audero has yet to play a minute in the league. The 27-year-old has started against Benfica in the Champions League, and Bologna in the Coppa Italia.

Meanwhile, Pazza di Fanta also anticipate a few other changes to the Inter team.

Their complete predicted starting eleven is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Audero;  Bisseck, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Frattesi, Calanhoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Alexis Sanchez. Allenatore: Inzaghi.
