Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and goalkeeper Yann Sommer will be among the players to drop out of the Inter Milan lineup against Lecce.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that Kristjan Asllani and Emil Audero will both be part of a heavily-rotated starting eleven for tomorrow’s match.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has had a few days in which to think about changes he’ll make to his starting eleven tomorrow.

And according to Sky, the coach is planning quite a few.

And in a couple of cases, Inzaghi will be giving a rest to regular starters based on their condition.

Calhanoglu & Sommer Drop Out Of Inter Team Vs Lecce

One player who is not currently at his best physically is Calhanoglu.

The Turkish international has been almost ever-present in Inter’s starting eleven throughout the season.

This included in Tuesday’s Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.

And all of that playing time is starting to take its toll on Calhanoglu. The former AC Milan midfielder therefore could use a rest.

According to Sky, Calhanoglu will be part of the Inter squad that travels to Puglia for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Lecce.

However, the 30-year-old will not start that match. Rather, it will be Kristjan Asllani who lines up at the base of midfield for Inter.

Meanwhile, one player who will not even be travelling with the Inter squad is goalkeeper Sommer.

The 35-year-old former Bayern Munich man has been suffering from some flu-like symptoms.

This illness kept Sommer out of training in today’s session. And the decision has been taken that the Swiss will not be part of the team tomorrow.

Rather, Sampdoria-owned keeper Audero will start the match in goal.

That will make tomorrow the first Serie A match this season in which Sommer has not started.

Audero has gotten starts against Benfica in the Champions League and Bologna in the Coppa Italia so far this season.

And then, Sky also report that Carlos Augusto and Yann Bisseck will start on either side of Stefan de Vrij in defense tomorrow.

The broadcaster’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for the match is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Audero; Bisseck, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Frattesi, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro, Sanchez.
