Wingback Carlos Augusto feels that Inter Milan showed their “extraordinary” strength as a group to beat Lecce in Serie A.
The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, following the 4-0 rout in Puglia.
Inter got the result they came for from the Via del Mare.
The Nerazzurri played with a number of changes to their starting eleven. Among these were Augusto and Yann Bisseck playing in defense, taking the place of Alessandro Bastoni and Benmjamin Pavard.
But it mattered little. The Inter starting eleven proved strong enough to get the result.
And then the substitutes helped the Nerazzurri to score even more goals, and see out the match.
This result brings Inter back to nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table, with a game in hand on Juventus.
And Augusto feels that it’s a testament to the strength of the entire group.

“I like playing at wingback, but also in defense. I’m always happy to help the team.”
As far as how he’s settled in at Inter, Augusto noted that “I already knew how to speak Italian, which helped.”
“Then I already knew Frattesi, who I’d played with at Monza.”
“And a lot of the more senior players like Lautaro, Barella, and Bastoni helped me to settle in in the dressing room,” Augusto said.
