Midfielder Kristjan Asllani will start for Inter Milan against Lecce this evening, whilst Carlos Augusto will play in defense.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will not be shy about making changes to his starting eleven this evening.

There will be seven players dropping out from the team that beat Atletico Madrid during the week. And seven coming in to replace them.

In the case of goalkeeper Yann Sommer, the former Bayern Munich man misses this evening’s match through illness. Emil Audero will start in his place, a first Serie A start for Inter.

And then in midfield, Asllani will get what is a relatively rare start for him.

The former Empoli midfielder most recently started for Inter against Fiorentina last month.

That was only Asllani’s second start of the season in the league. However, the Albanian has also made quite a few appearances from the bench.

This evening, Inzaghi is ready to trust Asllani from the start. This will give Hakan Calhanoglu the chance to take a breather.

Kristjan Asllani & Carlos Augusto To Start For Inter Vs Lecce

Starting alongside Asllani will be Davide Frattesi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The former, like Asllani, has not been a regular starter this season. But he will get the chance to prove himself from the start.

And in Mkhitaryan’s case, the 35-year-old continues to show his fitness and reliability.

In defense, the Corriere report that Carlos Augusto will play on the left of Inter’s back three.

The versatile Brazilian will replace Alessandro Bastoni in defense, rather than Federico Dimarco on the left flank.

The Corriere’s completed predicted Inter starting eleven for this evening’s match away to Lecce is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Audero; Bisseck, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Frattesi, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Sanchez, Lautaro.
