Lautaro Martinez will start for Inter Milan against Lecce this evening despite significant rotation to the squad overall.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCinterNews.

One thing that looks certain is that there will be quite a few changes to the Inter starting eleven this evening.

There could be as many as six or seven changes in comparison to the team that started against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

In goal, Emil Audero will get his first start for Inter in Serie A. The 27-year-old will take the place of Yann Sommer who is suffering from illness.

Yann Bisseck and Carlos Augusto should start in defense, giving Alessandro Bastoni and Benjamin Pavard a chance to rest.

And in midfield, there will be big changes. Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani – whose most recent league starts came against Fiorentina – are set to replace Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.

And in attack, it looks as though Alexis Sanchez will start at the Via del Mare.

An injury to Marcus Thuram means that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will have to call on a backup striker.

Lautaro Martinez To Captain Rotated Inter XI Vs Lecce

According to the Corriere della Sera, however, Inzaghi will not completely overhaul the attack.

Striker Marko Arnautovic, who came off the bench against Atletico, will not start.

Rather, it will be captain Martinez who leads the line alongside Sanchez from the first minute.

The Nerazzurri captain has been a stalwart in terms of his fitness and availability. A couple matches out with injury in December were a rare occurrence from the Argentine.

And Martinez will start this evening as well.

Therefore, the 26-year-old will be one of a handful of regular starters to keep their spot in the lineup.

Even with some lesser-used players starting, Inter will have their top goalscorer. And Martinez will be hoping to add to the twenty Serie A goals he has already scored this season.
