Veteran forward Alexis Sanchez will start for Inter Milan in this evening’s Serie A match away to Lecce.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is preparing to make a raft of changes to his team this evening at the Via del Mare.

The Nerazzurri are starting to see the fixtures pile up. A match against Atalanta looms just three days from now.

And so the Inter coach will rest some key starters.

Moreover, there is the injury to Marcus Thuram to contend with. The French striker will be out for at least a couple of matches.

Therefore, Inzaghi will be forced to choose an attack without a player who’s been available for every single league fixture so far this season.

Alexis Sanchez To Start For Inter Vs Lecce

When Thuram had to go off with injury against Atletico Madrid in midweek, Marko Arnautovic was the man to replace him.

The Austrian came on as a substitute at halftime. And he was even Inter’s hero on the night, popping up with the winning goal.

But according to the Gazzetta, there will be no place for Arnautovic in the Inter starting eleven this evening.

Rather, it will be former Manchester United, Arsenal, and Barcelona forward Sanchez.

The Chilean will line up alongside captain Lautaro Martinez in attack.

Then that would leave the opportunity for Arnautovic to come off the bench later during the match.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, there will be two notable changes in midfield.

Davide Frattesi is set to replace fellow Italian international Nicolo Barella in midfield. And Kristjan Asllani will get a relatively rare start, taking the place of Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Gazzetta’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for the match is as follows:

Inter (3-5-2): Audero; Bisseck, De Vrij, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Frattesi, Asllani, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Sanchez, Lautaro.
