Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Alexis Sanchez in attack, Yann Bisseck in defense, and Kristjan Asllani in midfield against Lecce. This evening’s Serie A matchday 26 clash kicks off at 18.00 CET.
This evening, Inzaghi has decided to make a number of changes to the starting eleven.
Firstly, that means that Yann Sommer drops out of the lineup for the first time this season in Serie A.
The Swiss international is suffering from flu-like illness. Therefore, Emil Audero gets his first chance to start in Serie A for Inter.
Secondly, in defense it is Stefan de Vrij starting in the centre of a back three.
However, Inzaghi has changed up the players on either side of the Dutchman.
Therefore, Yann Bisseck replaces Benjamin Pavard on the right. Then, the versatile Carlos Augusto starts on the left of the back three.
Thirdly in midfield, Inzaghi has made two changes to the team that beat Atletico in midweek.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan keeps his place in the midfield trio. However, Davide Frattesi and Kristjan Asllani replace Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanogly respectively.
Then, on the flanks, Inzaghi has given Denzel Dumfries the start.
The Dutchman had not started against Atletico on Tuesday. However, he had made an impact off the pitch, having also enjoyed a standout performance against Salertniana last Friday.
Meanwhile, Federico Dimarco starts on the left.
Big Attacking Decision For Lecce Vs Inter Clash – Alexis Sanchez Starts
Lastly, Inter coach Inzaghi has opted for a significant decision in attack.
With striker Marcus Thuram missing due to injury, the coach has started Alexis Sanchez.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona veteran partners captain Lautaro Martinez in attack.
Accordingly, there is only a place on the bench for striker Marko Arnautovic. Even in spite of the Austrian’s heroics in midweek, scoring the winner against Atletico.
Then, there are a number of injuries for Inter to contend with.
Aside from Thuram’s absence, Inzaghi also contends with Stefano Sensi, Juan Cuadrado, and Francesco Acerbi being out.
