Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco is anticipating a “very tough” second leg against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old spoke to BeIn Sports, via FCInterNews, emphasizing that the Nerazzurri have to play their own game in the decisive match in Madrid.

Next week, Inter will travel to the Spanish capital to take on Atletico for the second time this season.

Last month, Inter secured a 1-0 win over the La Liga giants.

That means that the Nerazzurri have an advantage to protect in the second leg. But only the very narrowest one possible.

Accordingly, it is not as though Inter can think of taking anything for granted.

Particularly against a side with the quality and experience of Atletico. And playing away in the Colchoneros’ home ground, which will undoubtedly be a different prospect than the San Siro.

“They’ve demonstrated that over many years under Simone.”

“But we’ll go their to play our game,” Dimarco emphasized.

As far as his coach Simone Inzaghi, Dimarco said that “He has a great relationship with everyone.”

“He makes us laugh. He makes us feel good.”

The wingback added of the Nerazzurri coach that “He also knows when to leave his mark to help the younger players.”

“We’re happy to have him with us.”

And of Inter captain Lautaro Martinez, Dimarco said that “We’re talking about one of the best strikers in the world.”

“We know how important he is for us, he’s our captain,” he added of the Argentine.

“Hopefully he can keep going the way he has been until the end of the season.”
