Marcus Thuram feels that while it’s easy to praise Inter Milan now, the team’s form is the result of a long journey and hard work.

The 26-year-old spoke to GQ Hype, via FCInterNews.

This season, Inter have emerged as the outstanding team in Serie A. And one of the top sides in all of Europe on current form.

From reaching the Champions League final last season, to dominating the Italian top flight this time around, the Nerazzurri have become an impossible team to ignore.

Praise has followed from this form. Particularly in the last few weeks. Inter have won twelve matches from twelve since the start of 2024.

But things haven’t always been easy for Inter.

There have been many stumbles along the way. The team has had to grow and find their feet.

Striker Thuram joined Inter during the summer.

And the Frenchman’s arrival seems to have been among the catalysts that really brought out the best in this Inter team.

Marcus Thuram: “Easy To Praise Inter Milan Now”

“This group wasn’t born last year,” Thuram observed.

“It’s existed for three years.”

“Last year they lost a Champions League final that they could have won,” he continued. “They won trophies, and we intend to keep doing so.”

“Of course, it’s easy to open your eyes to it now,” Thuram noted.

“Because now everything is going well. But this is a journey that has been going on for years.”

And Thuram also gave his thoughts on adjusting to life in the Italian top flight. “Serie A is a league that’s surprised me in a positive way,” he said.

The 26-year-old continued, “Obviously I already knew it.”

“But the tactical preparation of the opposition is always at the highest level.”

“Every team, from top of the table to the bottom, always takes to the pitch with a very specific idea of how they want to play,” Thuram said.

“The knowledge that every player has is very high.”
