Striker Antoine Griezmann is back in training ahead of Atletico Madrid’s Champions League clash with Inter Milan.

This according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, via FCInterNews, The outlet also report that former Chelsea and Marseille defender Cesar Azpilicueta is back.

The second leg of Atletico and Inter’s Champions League round of sixteen clash is now just a couple days away.

The Nerazzurri have a slender 1-0 advantage from the first leg.

However, there is little doubt that it will be a very different match in the Spanish capital.

Both teams will be hoping to have something close to full-strength squads, naturally.

In the case of Inter, the likes of Carlos Augusto and Marko Arnautovic will both be out. But the likes of Marcus Thuram, Francesco Acerbi, and Hakan Calhanoglu have all returned.

And for Atletico as well, Mundo Deportivo, some key players will be back.

One name in particular stands out.

Antoine Griezmann Fit For Atletico Madrid Vs Inter Showdown

France international Griezmann has been out with injury since the first leg between Atletico and Inter three weeks ago.

The 32-year-old had started that match at the San Siro. However, he had to come off the pitch late in the second half.

The reason for the substitution was an ankle sprain.

And Griezmann has not been able to return in any of Atletico’s matches since.

However, MD report, the former Barcelona and Real Sociedad striker should be just about ready to play on Wednesday.

In fact, the outlet reports, Griezmann had trained with his teammates ahead of Saturday’s loss to Cadiz. However, he did not travel with the squad for that La Liga match.

Instead, Griezmann is targeting a start against Inter on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, MD report, veteran defender Azpilicueta is also back in training. As is young midfielder Pablo Barrios.

In the case of defender Jose Maria Gimenez – another player who came off with an injury in the first leg against Inter – the Uruguayan is currently training individually.

Mundo Deportivo’s complete predicted Atletico starting eleven for Wednesday’s match is as follows:

Atletico Madrid (5-3-2): Oblak; Molina, Savic, Witsel, Hermoso, Lino; Koke, Llorente, De Paul; Griezmann, Morata
