Napoli have been reportedly dealt with a massive blow ahead of their clash against Inter Milan, with Victor Osimhen possibly ruled out.

The 25-year-old picked up a muscle strain towards the end of his side’s clash against Barcelona on Tuesday night.

Like the Nerazzurri, the Italian champions suffered Champions League elimination on Spanish soil in midweek.

Napoli lost the second leg in Catalunya by three goals to one. Therefore, the Blaugrana prevailed by winning 4-2 on aggregate.

In addition to the European exit, there was additional bad news in store for Napoli, with Osimhen sustaining a knock.

The club confirmed the news in an official note published 48 hours before Sunday’s showdown at San Siro.

“Napoli trained this morning at the SSCN Konami Training Center,” reads Napoli’s statement via FcInterNews.

“The Azzurri are preparing for the San Siro match against Inter for the 29th matchday of Serie A scheduled for Sunday at 8.45 pm.

“The team trained on Field 1 starting the session with an activation phase. Subsequently, the group engaged in tactical technical work and small-field games.

“Osimhen carried out personalized work on the pitch due to a muscle strain he suffered at the end of the match in Barcelona.”

Therefore, the Nigerian’s availability for the weekend contest remains uncertain.

If he were to miss the match, it would be a comprehensive blow for Francesco Colzona’s side.

Victor Osimhen Could Miss The Weekend Clash Between Inter Milan & Napoli

The Partenopei will be desperate to pick up points to gain some ground on the likes of Bologna and Roma in the battle for UCL spots.

Although he hasn’t registered the same remarkable figures from last season, Osimhen remains the club’s main talisman.

He has thus far contributed with 13 goals and four assists across all competitions this term.
