Inter Milan will reportedly find out the identity of their FIFA Club World Cup opponents in the coming months.

The summer of 2025 will witness the first-ever expanded edition of the global competition.

32 clubs will take part in the tournament which will be held in the United States between June 15th and July 13th.

The Nerazzurri’s European results over the last four campaigns have guaranteed them a spot in the tournament. With Napoli exiting the Champions League in midweek, Juventus earned the second ticket attributed to Serie A.

The competition will pit the participants into eight groups of four.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the draw must take place one year in advance.

Therefore, the source expects the draw to ensue between June and July this year.

This is when Simone Inzaghi’s men will figure out the identity of their three opponents in the group stage.

The Nerazzurri will play against each side on one occasion.

But as the report notes, FIFA must still have to resolve the issue regarding player contracts. When it comes to winter leagues, the players’ deals usually expire on the 30th of June.

Therefore, a host of contracts are bound to expire during the tournament.

Hence, the global organization must find a solution to this legal issue, which would allow the clubs to preserve the services of all players at least while they remain active in the tournament.
