Former Napoli defender Paolo Cannavaro feels that this Inter Milan team are a “war machine” and a “joy to watch.”

The former defender gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews. He particularly praised the work of coach Simone Inzaghi.

This season, Inter have been in flying form in Serie A.

There have been a couple of big disappointments in the cup competitions. The Nerazzurri have exited both the Coppa Italia and Champions League at the round of sixteen stage.

But in a virtual inversion of last season, it is the league where Inter have really shown their quality.

Last campaign, the Nerazzurri failed to show any sort of consistency in Serie A.

But then in the cup competitions, Inter always seemed to come up with the big performances when they really needed them.

On the other hand, this time around Inter have been ruthless and consistent in the league.

Paolo Cannavaro Calls Inter Milan A “War Machine” & A “Joy To Watch”

In the view of former defender Cannavaro, Inter have made significant strides in terms of growth under their coach Inzaghi.

“He’s changed the dynamics of how they play a lot,” he said of the Inter coach.

“I like him a lot. And evidently so do the players who he has playing under him.”

Cannavaro added, “Seeing Inter get six, seven players into the penalty area is always a joy to watch for anyone who loves football.”

And then the former Napoli defender also gave his thoughts on Inter’s squad depth this season.

“Right now even Inter’s backup players could win the Scudetto,” Cannavaro argued.

“This team is a war machine,” he said.

At the moment, Inter are sixteen points clear at the top of the Serie A table. City rivals AC Milan are the closest team to them in the table, albeit still miles off.
