Inter Milan are eyeing up a move for Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 26-year-old would cost around 30 million and is also a target for Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.

Gudmundsson is a player whose form has made him one of the real breakout talents of this Serie A season.

The Icelandic international is not in his first season in the Italian top flight. he had also been at Genoa during the second half of the 2021-22 campaign, when the Grifone were relegated.

But this time around has been by far Gudmundsson’s most impressive season to date.

The 26-year-old has scored ten goals and assisted a further three for Genoa in Serie A.

Moreover, the Icelander has shown significant positional versatility. He can play in an attacking midfield role, or as a second striker.

And for this reason, Gudmundsson is a major target for Inter, the Gazzetta report.

The Nerazzurri see the Genoa player as the perfect candidate to complete their attack along with the arrival of Mehdi Taremi, with his versatility giving the team a profile that it doesn’t currently have.

Inter Plot Summer Swoop For Albert Gudmundsson – 30M Needed

The Gazzetta report that Inter’s interest in Gudmundsson is more than a passing idea.

The Nerazzurri have in fact already made contact with Genoa. They have registered their interest in signing Gudmundsson.

And the financial demands from the Ligurian club are clear.

Genoa are asking for no less than 30 million to sell Gudmundsson this summer.

But the Gazzetta report that Inter would be willing to invest this amount in signing the player.

Particularly given Gudmundsson’s age, the Nerazzurri would see this as a worthwhile investment for both the present and the future.

However, the Gazzetta note, it is not as though there is not competition for the Icelander’s signature.

Gudmundsson’s form has also caught the eye of Juventus in Serie A. Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have also shown an interest.
