Inter Milan could offer Genoa a deal including attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni to sign forward Albert Gudmundsson.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are serious in their interest in signing Icelandic international forward Gudmundsson.

The Nerazzurri see the 26-year-old as having the ideal profile to complete their attack for next season.

Mehdi Taremi will already be arriving from Porto. But the Iranian is not likely to be the last signing in attack for the Nerazzurri.

With Alexis Sanchez likely to depart at the end of his contract, Inter will aim to sign a player to replace the Chilean. They want to have five forwards in the squad in total.

Inter Could Offer Genoa Valentin Carboni + Cash For Albert Gudmundsson

Gudmundsson has scored ten goals and assisted a further three so far in Serie A this season.

Inter have no doubt that the former AZ Alkmaar man is the right player to complete their attack.

However, there is the matter of the price tag for the Genoa forward.

The Grifone will hardly let Gudmundsson go for cheap after the season he has been having.

The Gazzetta report that the price tag for Gudmundsson will be no less than €30 million.

Moreover, there is competition for the Icelander’s signature. Juventus are keen on signing Gudmundsson as well, whilst there is also interest from the Premier League.

But Inter could have a strategy to sign the 26-year-old this summer.

According to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri could exploit Genoa’s interest in young attacking midfielder Carboni.

The 18-year-old is currently on loan at Monza until the end of the season.

But the Nerazzurri could offer Carboni as part of a deal for Gudmundsson this summer. The Argentine could join Genoa with Inter retaining a buyback clause so as to not lose control of the player’s future.
