Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto will be fit for next month’s clash with Empoli, whilst striker Marko Arnautovic will miss out.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInter1908.

Over the international break, Inter have had a couple of players recovering from injury.

Both picked up their injuries during a Serie A win away to Bologna earlier this month.

One is wingback Augusto. The 25-year-old former Monza and Corinthians wingback suffered an elongation to the soleus muscle of his right calf that forced him to come off at halftime against Bologna.

And then striker Arnautovic picked up a strain to his left hamstring right towards the end of the match.

The 34-year-old had come on as a second half substitute for captain Lautaro Martinez.

And it was during a defensive run into his own penalty area that Arnautovic pulled up with the thigh problem.

Carlos Augusto To Return Vs Empoli – Arnautovic Targeting Return Vs Udinese

According to the Gazzetta, Augusto is well on track to fully recover from his injury during the international break.

The Brazilian has not yet made a full return to training. But that won’t be too far away.

Inter’s first match back from the break is against Empoli at home in Serie A.

And the Gazzetta report that Augusto should virtually certainly be ready to be part of that match, ten days from now.

Meanwhile, it is a different story concerning Arnautovic.

The Austrian former West Ham United and Bologna striker will not be ready to get back on the pitch in time for the match against Empoli.

Rather, Arnautovic will be targeting a return for Inter’s next match, according to the Gazzetta.

That will be away to Udinese the following weekend. There is a feeling that that will give Arnautovic plenty of time.
