Juventus are keen to beat Inter Milan and AC Milan to the signing of Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Gudmundsson is a player whose star has been rising steadily in the past twelve months or so.

The Icelander joined Genoa in January of 2022. However, he was not able to prevent the Grifone from suffering relegation to Serie B in his first season at the club.

Last campaign, Gudmundsson helped Genoa to come straight back up to Serie A.

And back in the top flight, the former AZ Alkmaar forward has thrived.

Gudmundsson has been one of the outstanding players from outside of Serie A’s biggest clubs. The 26-year-old has bagged ten goals and three assists so far this season.

Moreover, Gudmundsson has brought far more than just goals and assists to the team.

The Icelander’s versatility has been a key asset for Genoa.

Gudmundsson can play anywhere from central midfield to as a striker. Inter saw this firsthand as the 26-year-old played both roles effectively in a recent Serie A match.

Meanwhile, Gudmundsson has also been impressing for his country recently.

The Genoa forward had a starring role as Iceland beat Iceland 4-1 in a Euro 2024 qualifying match on Thursday. Gudmundsson’s hat-trick proved to be the difference in that match.

Juventus Want To Beat Inter & AC Milan To Sign Albert Gudmundsson

Unsurprisingly, Gudmundsson’s form this season has attracted the attention of Serie A’s elite.

Tuttosport report that all three of the Italian top flight’s biggest clubs – Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus – want the Icelander.

And the Turin-based newspaper anticipate that the Bianconeri in particular see Gudmundsson as an important tactical solution in the transfer market.

The persistent injuries to Federico Chiesa mean that Juventus want to reinforce their attack with a player with strong one-on-one dribbling ability.

That is certainly something that Gudmundsson can boast.

Tuttosport report that Juventus are hoping to use their strong recent rapport with Genoa to beat Inter and Milan to Gudmundsson’s signature.

The Bianconeri recently sold Radu Dragusin to the Grifone. And the Ligurian team are also expected to sign Koni De Winter on a permanent basis at the end of this season when his loan expires.
