Milan Mayor Beppe Sala has confirmed that Inter Milan and AC Milan are “providing all the necessary date” in a feasibility study on renovating the San Siro.
The Mayor spoke to reporters, via FCInterNews. He updated on the progress of the study regarding the prospective redevelopment of the iconic stadium.
At the moment, Italian architectural firm WeBuild are undertaking a feasibility study into the renovation of the San Siro.
Milan Mayor Sala has been pushing for this renovation.
The Mayor is extremely keen to keep Inter and Milan at the San Siro.
The clubs have been working on plans to build new stadiums outside the city of Milan in the greater metropolitan area.
And this is an eventuality that Sala wants to avoid.
The clubs have no intention of staying in the San Siro as it is. The current stadium cannot generate revenues for Inter and Milan that are competitive with other top European clubs.
And the clubs cannot tear down the existing stadium in order to build a more modern one either.
But Sala is hoping that significant renovations to the San Siro can change the minds of the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri.
Sala Confirms Inter & AC Milan “Providing Necessary Data” In San Siro Feasibility Study
WeBuild are evaluating the feasibility not just of undertaking renovation work on the San Siro, but also of doing so in a way that enables Inter and Milan to continue playing in the stadium during the work.
The results of the feasibility study are expected by June.
That is what Mayor Sala has promised Inter and Milan.
And Sala explained that “At the moment, WeBuild are acquiring all of the elements they need for their analysis.”
“We have given them everything that we’ve needed to,” the Mayor continued.
“And the clubs are providing all the data and requests that are necessary for WeBuild over the past few days.”
