Inter Milan could reportedly identify Alessandro Bastoni as the club’s sacrificial lamb in next summer’s transfer campaign.

In recent years, the Nerazzurri have made a habit of selling some of their most prized assets to balance the books.

The list includes the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Romelu Lukaku and Andre Onana.

So according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Bastoni might be next, as the management would consider a sale if an enticing offer were to arrive.

As the source tells it, the 24-year-old has cemented himself as a stalwart at the back. He recently signed a contract renewal until 2028.

Moreover, the defender is madly in love with Inter, and has the full backing of his coach Simone Inzaghi.

Yet, the hierarchy’s resilience could be tested this summer, with top European clubs emerging as suitors.

The pink newspaper notes interest from the Premier League in particular.

Inter would have to decide whether to resist all offers like they did with Milan Skriniar a couple of years ago, or succumb to financial temptation.

The report estimates the Italian’s value at around 70 million euros.

Would Inter Milan Sell Alessandro Bastoni In The Face Of A Major Offer?

Bastoni rose through the ranks of Atalanta before signing for Inter in 2017. He cost the Nerazzurri 31 million euros at the time, which was a considerable figure for a teenager.

Nevertheless, the Italy international was certainly worth every penny.

He has now established himself as a key player at the back for both club and country.

This season, he has thus far made 31 appearances across all competitions for the Nerazzurri. He scored two goals in Serie A and produced one assist.
