Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Emil Audero in goal against Empoli. This evening’s Serie A matchday 30 clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.

Firstly, there is one name that stands out in the Inter starting eleven – that of goalkeeper Emil Audero. The former Juventus keeper makes his second Serie A start for Inter.

The reason that Audero is starting is that Yann Sommer has just come back from an injury.

Therefore, Sommer is on the bench after recovering from an ankle sprain. However, the former Bayern Munich keeper only just recovered.

Subsequently, Inzaghi is not taking any risks with Sommer. Accordingly, the Inter coach has gone with Audero in goal.

Secondly, Inzaghi has gone with more or less the strongest lineup available to him.

That means that it is a back three of Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni.

Then in midfield, it is the starting trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella.

Darmian Starts At Right-WIngback – Lautaro & Thuram Start In Attack

Next, on the right flank Inzaghi has decided to start veteran former veteran Matteo Darmian.

Opposite the 34-year-old is another Italian international. Therefore, Federico DImarco starts at left-wingback.

Lastly, in attack, it is the usual first-choice strike partnership.

Therefore, Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram lead the line for Inter.

Meanwhile, there are couple of notable injury absences. Stefan de Vrij and Marko Arnautovic are both out.

However, Carlos Augusto and Stefano Sensi are both back. Then, there is Juan Cuadrado – the former Juventus wingback is still absent, but nearing a return.
