Inter Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina, and Sassuolo are all scouting young Padova-owned Sampdoria defender Giovanni Leoni.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet report that the Nerazzurri sent scouts to watch the teenager at a recent Serie B between Sampdoria and Ternana.

FCIN report that Inter had scouts observing a recent match between Sampdoria and Ternana in Liguria.

There were a few particular players that the Nerazzurri scouts had an eye on.

Among them were two players owned by Inter.

One of those being goalkeeper Filip Stankovic. The Serb is currently on loan with Sampdoria.

However, the Nerazzurri are keen to see whether or not the Blucerchiati decide to exercise a purchase option on Stankovic.

And if not, Inter are considering what the next step would be for the young goalkeeper in the summer.

Meanwhile, another player who the Inter scouts were watching was young wingback Franco Carboni.

Carboni is currently on loan with Ternana. He made the switch to the Umbria club during the January transfer window.

Having previously been out on loan at Cagliari and Monza, the 20-year-old is starting to find more consistent playing time with Ternana in Serie B.

Inter, Juventus, Fiorentina & Sassuolo Scout Giovanni Leoni

But according to FCIN, Inter’s scouts were not just watching players already under contract with the Nerazzurri.

On the contrary, the outlet reports, there was also one player who Inter had their eye on as a potential transfer target.

This was defender Giovanni Leoni.

Teenage defender Leoni has been on loan at Sampdoria this season from Padova. The Ligurian club have a 1.5 million purchase option on the 17-year-old.

And there is little question that they will exercise this clause, whether it is to keep Leoni in their squad or immediately sell the young defender.

Leoni’s performances have been one of the standout aspects of Sampdoria’s season.

And there is a fair bit of transfer interest around the young Italian.

Inter are keen, but the likes of Juventus, Fiorentina, and Sassuolo have also been among the clubs to observe the teenage defender.
