Inter Milan wingback Tajon Buchanan should reportedly earn more playing time in the final stages of the campaign.

The Canadian joined the Nerazzurri on a permanent move from Club Brugge in January. He arrived as a replacement for Juan Cuadrado who has been recovering from surgery since December.

The 25-year-old primarily plays on the right flank. But with Matteo Darmian and Denzel Dumfries vying for a starting berth, Buchanan found playing time hard to come by.

Simone Inzaghi instead deployed him on the left side in three short Serie A cameos. He has only accumulated 33 minutes in total.

Nevertheless, Tuttosport (via FcInterNews) tips the January signing to collect more minutes in the season run-in.

As the Turin-based newspaper explains, Inzaghi has a knack for slowly introducing new signings into the fold.

Therefore, Buchanan is receiving a similar treatment to Robin Gosens who joined Inter in January 2022. The German left the club last summer, signing for Union Berlin.

Moreover, Inter summer signing Davide Frattesi has also been gradually carving himself a role at the club while playing second fiddle to Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Tajon Buchanan To Receive More Playing Time Once Inter Milan Secure The Scudetto

As for Buchanan, the source notes that he’s showing improvement in training and continues to work hard every day.

Therefore, Tuttosport expects him to feature more often in the final stretch, especially when the Scudetto title is automatically sealed.

The Nerazzurri are currently leading the Serie A charts with a 14-point gap separating them from AC Milan.

Inzaghi’s men would love to celebrate the club’s 20th league title with a victory over their crosstown rivals in the Derby della Madonnina on April 22nd, which would also bear good news for Buchanan on a personal level.
