Lazio have set their sights on Inter Milan youngster Valentin Carboni, but the Nerazzurri have different plans for the Argentine.

The 19-year-old has been one of the finest jewels in Inter’s Primavera over the past few years.

This season, he is spending his campaign on loan at Monza. Following a relatively slow start, he has now established himself as a regular starter in Raffaele Palladino’s lineup.

Moreover, the attacking midfielder earned a call-up for the senior Argentine national team last month. He made his debut for the world champions while coming off the bench against Costa Rica.

According to Il Tempo via FcInterNews, Lazio have identified Carboni as a transfer target for next summer.

The Biancocelesti would like to bolster Igor Tudor’s squad by adding the talented Argentine to the ranks.

But as the source tells it, the capital side is unlikely to succeed in this daunting mission.

The report believes that Inter would like to maintain Carboni’s card as it could come in handy in the negotiations for Albert Gudmundsson.

Inter Milan Have No Plans To Sell Valentin Carboni To Lazio

The Icelandic star has emerged as Inter’s primary transfer target to strengthen the attack.

However, Genoa are reportedly requesting a figure around 35 million euros to part ways with the 26-year-old. Tottenham Hotspur have also resurfaced as a suitor for the Serie A revelation.

Nevertheless, Inter believe they would have a better chance of striking a deal with the Grifone by using Carboni as a bargaining chip to lower the asking price.

Yet, the Serie A leaders don’t want to lose control over the teenager’s future.

So they might potentially aim for a move that includes a buy-back option. similar to Giovanni Fabbian’s switch to Bologna last summer.
