Inter Milan have a casual interest in Bologna defender Sam Beukema, but haven’t launched a concrete attempt to sign him.

The Dutchman joined the Emilian club, this season, completing a transfer from AZ Alkmaar. He rapidly established himself as a stalwart in Thiago Motta’s backline.

The 25-year-old is one of several Rossoblu revelations this season. Bologna currently sit fourth in the Serie A table, cementing themselves as genuine contenders for a Champions League spot next term.

Their exploits obviously caught the attention of other sides, with suitors all around Italy and Europe lurking in the hopes of snatching one of the club’s breakout stars.

Yesterday, a report from Il Corriere dello Sport claimed that Inter have set their sights on Beukema.

The Roman newspaper identified the latter as an alternative for the Nerazzurri’s other transfer target, Alessandro Buongiorno.

Nevertheless, FcInterNews downplays the story.

The source insists that Inter’s interset in the Dutchman is only casual. In other words, he’s one of several targets that the club is watching from afar.

But at the moment, the Serie A leaders have yet to launch a concrete attempt to land the 25-year-old.

Inter Milan Have Yet To Make A Move For Bologna Defender Sam Beukema

Moreover, Beukema wouldn’t come cheap, as Bologna will only let him go for a considerable windfall.

The Rossoblu splashed 10 million euros to secure the centre-back’s services last summer. But his current valuation has reportedly reached 25 million.

This season, the defender has made 28 appearances for Bologna between Serie A and Coppa Italia. He scored a couple of goals and produced an assist.

Beukema’s contract with the Italian club is valid until June 2027.
