Inter Milan are reportedly working to snatch Hamburg teenage defender Karim Coulibaly in the summer transfer market.

The 16-year-old is a German defender of Ivorian origins. He currently represents Germany at the U17 level.

Koulibaly has been developing his game at Hamburg since 2018. He currently plays for the club’s U19 side after earning a promotion from the U17 squad in the middle of the season. He has thus far made seven appearances in the Junior Bundesliga this season.

However, his contract with the German club will expire at the end of the season. This situation has reportedly raised eyebrows at Appiano Gentile.

According to Bild via FcInterNews, the Nerazzurri are looking to secure the signature of the teenager in the summer.

The Serie A giants are looking to take advantage of the stalling negotiations between the teenager and Hamburg.

Inter have already invited Coulibaly and his family who came to Italy and visited the club’s training facility.

The source claims the teenager was left impressed by the training ground and the other facilities. Aside from the financial aspect, this could prove to be another motive for the teenager to choose a move the Beneamata.

Moreover, the German newspaper also reveals that the Italian giants have made initial talks with the player’s agent.

On another note, the report mentions that Coulibaly doesn’t regularly train with Hamburg’s senior players, unlike some of the other young talents at the club.

 

This season, the youngster has made 20 appearances across all competitions, contributing with three goals and an assist.
