Federico Dimarco has become a symbol of Inter Milan, but can’t let his passion get the better of him against AC Milan this evening.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Whenever Inter manage to wrap up the Serie A title, it will be a first ever league title for a number of players in the squad.

Of course, it will mean a lot to everyone in the team. But few will have as deep a reason to celebrate as Dimarco.

The 26-year-old is a lifelong Inter supporter. He came through the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks, and after growing in a series of loan moves, made a return to Inter which has been a dream for him.

Dimarco has been a key cog in Inter’s starting eleven for the last couple seasons.

The Italian international gives the Nerazzurri quality in buildup and in the final third with his brilliant left foot.

The combination of Dimarco’s talent and personal history have made him one of the symbols of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter.

Federico Dimarco A “Symbol” Of Inter – But Must Keep Composure Vs AC Milan

Because of his personal connection to Inter, winning this title will not just be a personal matter for Dimarco. The 26-year-old can say he’s given something back to a club that means so much to him.

Not only that, though.

Dimarco has admitted in the past that the derby against Milan is the fixture that means most to him.

That was the reason for the Italian’s exuberant celebrations after the Nerazzurri’s Champions League semifinal triumph last season.

Dimarco celebrated with Inter’s ultras after that match.

This also earned him the ire of the AC Milan ultras.

Therefore, it is clear that Dimarco would truly relish clinching a title for his beloved Inter with a win over the Rossoneri this evening.

However, it also means that the 26-year-old must be careful to keep his emotions in check.

There is still work to do in this evening’s derby. And Dimarco must keep his focus in spite of how much the match means to him.
