Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson has been a main transfer target for Inter Milan, but revealed his desire to play in the Premier League at some point.

The Icelandic striker has left Serie A fans in awe this season with his brilliant goals and incredible dribbling skills.

The 26-year-old has been delivering the goods at the Luigi Ferraris since January 2022. However, it appears that the time has come for the player to pursue greener pastures.

Inter have emerged as one of his main suitors, as they’re reportedly keen to secure his services in the summer.

Nevertheless, Gudmundsson admitted his ambition to play in the Premier League.

In a new interview, the versatile attacker said he’s comfortable at Genoa, but left the door open for a summer move.

“I would like to test myself at the highest possible level,” he told the Telegraph via FcInterNews.

“I feel good here and I have a contract with Genoa. First, I want to finish the season and see what happens.

“But obviously, as a player and someone who loves football, I have always dreamed of playing at the highest level.

“This has always been my ambition. Since I was a child I’ve always thought about playing in the Premier League, so obviously it’s something I’d like to try.”

This could be a boost for Tottenham Hotspur who are reportedly on the player’s trail as well.

The Iceland international has a contract with Genoa valid until June 2027. The Grifone have set their price at 35 million euros and will be hoping for a bidding war.

The Ligurians are set to register major capital gains, as they signed the player for just over 1 million euros two years ago.
