Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu feels that Inter Milan is “everything” to him.

The 30-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, following the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 Serie A win over Torino.

Calhanoglu was the hero for Inter in this evening’s match against Torino.

The Turkish international scored both of the Nerazzurri’s goals in a 2-0 victory to keep their momentum going in Serie A even after they already clinched the title.

Calhanoglu’s first goal was a relative rarity – a goal from open play for the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.

It was a very well-struck effort from the corner of the box to give Inter the lead.

And then Calhanoglu’s second goal was anything but rare.

Nerazzurri fans have come to expect the Turk to slot home from the penalty spot in emphatic fashion. And that is exactly what he did after his teammate Marcus Thuram had been brought down in the box.

Hakan Calhanoglu: Inter Is “Everything” To Me

“I’m happy,” Calhanoglu said after the 2-0 Inter win.

“I didn’t expect to score two goals,” he added.

“Enjoying myself like this in such a beautiful stadium – it’s all thanks to the fans.”

As far as the “secret” to his clinical record on penalties – Calhanoglu has yet to miss a penalty for Inter – the midfielder explained “Concentration.”

“I don’t want to miss. Whenever there’s an opportunity, I want to put it in the back of the net.”

“Then the secret is to work, believe it, and then just go up and take it.”

“Today’s a beautiful day,” Calhanoglu continued. “I’m enjoying myself.”

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old said of the title celebrations that “I’m not going to go too wild. I want to remain calm, because we still have more matches to play.”

Calhanoglu concluded that “There’s a great atmosphere here and it shows.”

“Inter is everything,” he added. “It’s raised my level, I owe everything to this club.”
