Benjamin Pavard feels that Inter Milan learn from their mistakes, and have still had a successful season despite a shock defeat against Sassuolo.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri tasted defeat for the second time in Serie A at the Mapei Stadium.

There was no shortage of Inter fans at the Mapei Stadium this evening.

The trip between Milan and Sassuolo is not an overly long one. Therefore, it is not uncommon for Nerazzurri fans to follow their team to matches in Emilia-Romagna.

And the Inter fans were hoping to see their team get a win against a side who are a true “bogey team” for the Nerazzurri.

Sassuolo had already beaten Inter in the previous meeting this season.

That is pretty much par for the course in meetings between the two teams since the Emilians came up to Serie A.

And it led to the sense that Sassuolo could get a result at their home stadium this evening, even if they are in the relegation zone, even if they were facing the dominant force in Serie A, and even if the stadium was packed with Inter supporters.

That would have made an Inter victory all the more satisfying for the fans who made the trip.

But alas, it was not to be. The Neroverdi got a surprise 1-0 win.

Benjamin Pavard: “Inter Learn From Our Mistakes, Still Won Two Trophies”

After the match, Pavard commented that “I think we’ve had a good season.”

“We won two trophies this season,” the 28-year-old continued. “But I think we could have done better.”

“But these things happen. We learn  from our mistakes.”

“I’m very happy for this season, happy for this club,” Pavard said. “Very happy for the second star.”

The former Bayern Munich man said winning the Serie A title for the twentieth time was “Very important for Inter, for us and for the fans.”

“Now we want to do the best we can in the last three matches and take nine points,” Pavard concluded.
