Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck has revealed that there has been interest in his signature from the Bundesliga, but says that he wants to stay in Serie A.

Speaking to German outlet Geissblog, via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old gave his thoughts on what the next few years could hold for him.

Bisseck’s first season at Inter has come to an end.

In many ways, the campaign went better for the German individually than he would have expected.

Inter as a club won the Serie A title for the twentieth time in their history. And Bisseck actually made a significant contribution to that.

The 23-year-old himself admitted that he didn’t expect that to be the case. Bisseck says that he’s had more playing time than he had anticipated when he joined.

Bisseck joined Inter from Aarhuus as a young player with next to no experience in a top league.

The German made the adjustment to playing in a tactically demanding position that requires a lot of maturity, and has not looked out of his depth.

Therefore, it is hardly as though Bisseck won’t have a place at Inter next season.

On the other hand, though, the 23-year-old’s form could certainly attract transfer attention. And some of it could come from his native Germany.

Yann Bisseck: ‘There Was Bundesliga Interest, But I Want To Stay In Serie A’

Regarding his future, Bisseck noted that “I think there have already been requests.”

“I don’t know which clubs exactly,” the 23-year-old continued.

“Because I always tell my agent not to bother me with anything unless it’s a very specific interest.”

“But there was a lot of interest from the Bundesliga,” said Bisseck. “Even last winter transfer window.”

The Inter defender admitted that “I can see myself playing in the Bundesliga one day.”

“But to be perfectly honest, after moving around so much over the last few years, having some continuity would be great.”

“My wish would be to settle here in Italy for at least two years,” Bisseck said.

“And then we’ll see what happens from there, one season at a time.”
