Inter Milan have reportedly named their price for club captain Lautaro Martinez amidst the recent hurdles in new contract talks.

The Nerazzurri have been negotiating with the player’s agent Alejandro Camano for quite some time.

Both sides reiterated their desire to prolong their collaboration, claiming that an agreement is close.

But on the contrary, it appears that a significant gap persists between the two parties.

According to Il Corriere della Sera via FcInterNews, the club directors raised their wage offer to 8.5 million euros as net salary per year.

However, Camano is requesting much higher figures.

The agent is reportedly demanding a yearly salary of 12 million euros for the first season. The figure would then rise to 14M and then 16M in the following campaigns.

Normally, these numbers are beyond the club’s financial parameters.

Camano’s demands and public statements have irked the Nerazzurri directors who are now forced to consider drastic measures.

Inter Milan Request €110 Million To Part Ways With Lautaro Martinez

Inter could have no other option but to sell Martinez in the summer while his market value remains high, even though no one at the club would be content with this scenario.

As the source explains, the captain used to have a release clause worth 110 million euros in his contract. However, this stipulation has now expired.

Yet, this figure would still reflect the club’s asking price in case they were to sell the 2022 World Cup winner.

This season, Martinez led Inter towards the Serie A title while cementing himself as the league’s top goalscorer with 24 strikes to his name.

Lega Serie A also recognized his achievements by naming him the Serie A MVP of the season.
