Juventus are reportedly first in line for Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, while Inter Milan remain mere observers thus far.

The 30-year-old has recently expressed his desire to leave the Southern city and embark on a new career endeavor.

However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has no intention of depriving himself from the services of his club captain, thus sparking a back-and-forth transfer saga that could span over the summer.

According to FcInterNews, the Partenopei are hoping to ward off all suitors by placing a hefty price on the player’s back.

De Laurentiis has reportedly named his price at 30 million euros.

The source also reveals that Antonio Conte, who is widely expected to be appointed as new Napoli coach, is determined to maintain the wingback’s services.

The report also adds that Juventus is the only club to make a concrete move thus far. Bianconeri Football director Cristiano Giuntoli was the one who brought Di Lorenzo to Napoli in 2019.

Therefore, the 52-year-old would love to reunite with his old pupil in Turin.

On the other hand, Inter have been more reluctant on this front, only inquiring about the player from afar.

Juventus Ahead Of Inter Milan In The Race For Giovanni Di Lorenzo

As FcInterNews explains, the Serie A champions won’t make any move before defining the future of Denzel Dumfries.

The Dutchman has yet to renew his contract with the Nerazzurri which will expire in June 2025.

The Nerazzurri are still hoping for a breakthrough in their negotiations with the player’s agent. But if they fail to do so, they will be looking to sell the 27-year-old this summer to avoid losing him for free a year later.

In this case, Inter would need a replacement on the right flank, which could prompt a move for the Napoli captain.

Di Lorenzo’s contract with the Partenopei remains valid until June 2028.
