Inter Milan owners Oaktree Capital have reportedly given the thumbs-up for the management to fetch a new striker, with Karim Konate and Vladyslav Vanat emerging as the primary candidates for the roles.

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta and the club’s sporting director Piero Ausilio have been pushing for a fifth attacker to complete Simone Inzaghi’s attacking department.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Oaktree’s greenlight has finally arrived on the matter.

However, it’s not an absolute consent, but one that comes with a key condition: Inter can only sign a new striker while adhering to Oaktree’s guidelines.

In other words, the new arrival must be a young profile whose value could increase over time.

As the pink newspaper reveals, two main candidates have emerged onto the scene.

The first is RB Salzburg’s Karim Konate. News reports have been linking the 20-year-old with a move to San Siro over the past few days.

The Ivorian has a contract with the Austrian champions valid until June 2028. His current valuation is circa 25 million euros.

Konate produced 20 league goals in 29 appearances last season, but was recently dealt with an injury setback. He will be out of action for a few weeks.

The alternative option is Vanat, a Dynamo Kyiv youth product who rose through the club’s ranks to become a pillar with the first team.

The 22-year-old contract with the Ukrainian capital side runs until the summer of 2027. The source estimates his value somewhere in between 10 and 15 million euros.

The pink newspaper also notes that Inter must get rid of Joaquin Correa to make room for a new arrival.

As for Marko Arnautovic, the management wants to understand if he’s willing to accept a reduced squad role.

The Austrian has fallen down the pecking order following Mehdi Taremi’s arrival who will be the first backup for Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.
