Inter Milan slumped to an underwhelming result at the start of their Serie A title defense.
Genoa netted a stoppage-time equalizer to hold the reigning Scudetto holders to a 2-2 draw at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
It wasn’t a dream start for Simone Inzaghi’s troops. In doing so, Inter joined Juventus in setting a negative Serie A record.
According to Opta, these two teams are the only defending title champions to experience a winless start to their title defense.
Juventus’ home loss to Udinese in 2015/16 was the only exception in the previous 13 seasons.
