Midfielder Piotr Zielinski is ready to make his Serie A debut for Inter Milan in next weekend’s match against Monza.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter brought in 30-year-old Polish international midfielder ZIelinski this summer.
Zielinski arrived on a free transfer after his contract with Napoli expired.
Inter were seen as pulling off a major coup by signing Zielinski.
The Pole is a player with significant experience in Serie A. He spent eight years with Napoli, under the likes of Maurizio Sarri, Carlo Ancelotti, Gennaro Gattuso, and Luciano Spalletti.
Zielinski played a key role when Napoli won the Serie A title during the 2022-23 season.
And the 30-year-old also had Serie A experience with the likes of Udinese and Empoli earlier in his career.
Meanwhile, Zielinski also has a wealth of experience at international level. He has so far won 94 caps for Poland, having been a full international since 2013.
Piotr Zielinski Could Make Inter Serie A Debut Vs Monza
Zielinski has yet to make an appearance for Inter, however.
The Polish international was not available for the Nerazzurri’s first match of the season against Genoa. This was due to a muscle injury.
However, Zielinski has been fully fit since then.
And in spite of that, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has not yet decided to give the Pole a chance to play.
Zielinski hasn’t even had a brief cameo appearance off the pitch as of yet.
But that should soon change, reports the Gazzetta.
The newspaper anticipate that there is every chance that Zielinski should take to the pitch in Inter’s first match back from the international break. At least as a substitute.
Inter face Monza away next Sunday.
After that, it will be a very difficult sequence of Manchester City and AC Milan for the Nerazzurri.
