Simone Inzaghi is ready to go with an Inter Milan starting eleven that’s tried and tested in tomorrow’s Serie A derby match against AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter are preparing for the first derby clash of the season in Serie A tomorrow.
The Nerazzurri and their city rivals AC Milan go into tomorrow’s match off the back of very different European results.
Inter secured a draw away to Premier League juggernauts Manchester City on Wednesday to begin their Champions League campaign.
Milan, on the other hand, suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of English opposition. They were beaten 1-3 by Liverpool despite scoring an early goal.
On the other hand, in Serie A Inter had to settle for a point in their last time out. They drew 1-1 away to Monza.
Milan, by contrast, brushed aside Venezia 4-0 in the league last weekend.
Inzaghi To Go With Tried & Tested Inter XI Vs AC Milan
Naturally, Inzaghi is planning to go with a strong team in tomorrow’s match.
And according to the Gazzetta, that will mean that five players return to the starting eleven compared to the team that drew with City on Wednesday.
The likes of Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella will keep their places in midfield.
And in defense, Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni will remain.
But the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Benjamin Pavard will replace Piotr ZIelinski and Yann Bisseck respectively.
Then on the flanks Inzaghi will change things up.
Denzel Dumfries will make his first start of the season for Inter. He’ll come in for Matteo Darmian.
And Federico Dimarco is back from injury after missing the clash with City. He will replace Carlos Augusto on the left flank.
Lastly, Inter captain Lautaro Martinez will start alongside Marcus Thuram in attack.
