Inter Milan defensive target Jonathan Tah maintains he’s satisfied with his life at Bayer Leverkusen despite growing exit links.
Speaking in the build-up to Leverkusen’s Champions League encounter against Milan, as reported by FCInterNews, Tah delivered an update on his current status at the BayArena.
The 28-year-old’s deal at the defending Bundesliga champions runs out at the end of the season.
Despite his utmost importance for Xabi Alonso’s tactical set-up, he has yet to renew his expiring contract.
His contractual wobble has quickly come to Inter president Beppe Moratta’s attention.
With the Nerazzurri seeking a long-term replacement for the aging Francesco Acerbi, Tah has emerged as a top cost-effective solution.
However, the Germany international is in no rush to leave Leverkusen.
He has established himself as an indispensable first-team star at the club, growing to become one of Europe’s finest defenders.
As such, numerous elite clubs, including Inter, have registered an interest in his services.
Unfortunately for Marotta, Tah is happy to stay at Die Werkself.
Inter Milan Defensive Target Jonathan Tah Delivers Crucial Update on His Bayer Leverkusen Future
Tah has been at Leverkusen since 2015. He has no intention of departing the club despite being tracked by Inter and other top teams.
“I feel good here. I’ve adapted, I have a good relationship with everyone, so I can say everything is fine,” the sought-after defender admitted.
Inter are in the market for a new center-back after failing to add to Simone Inzaghi’s defensive options in the summer.
Udinese’s Jaka Bijol was on Marotta’s shortlist, but negotiations with the Friulian outfit never took off
However, Inter could now focus on Tah if he fails to extend his deal at Leverkusen.
The former Hamburger SV starlet was on Bayern Munich’s radar this summer.
But as Leverkusen refused to negotiate with their fiercest rivals, there’s a chance Inter could snatch Tah next year.
