Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni will both get a rest for Italy against Israel, while Davide Frattesi will start the match.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They anticipate just one Inter Milan player in the Azzurri starting eleven for the Nations League clash.
There were three Inter players in the Italy starting eleven for the Azzurri’s Nations League clash with Belgium last week.
Bastoni, Frattesi, and Dimarco were all in the lineup for the 2-2 draw.
This was hardly a surprise. All three of the trio are regular starters for Italy, and part of what would almost certainly be Azzurri coach Luciano Spalletti’s first-choice starting eleven.
However, the Italy coach is ready to make some changes to the team.
Naturally, Spalletti will aim to use the international break as a chance to give opportunities to some other players in his squad.
Moreover, the Italy coach will hardly want to overuse key players.
Therefore, there will be some squad rotation from Spalletti for tomorrow’s match against Israel.
Dimarco & Bastoni To Get A Rest For Italy Vs Israel – Frattesi To Start
According to Italian broadcaster Mediaset, wingback Dimarco and defender Bastoni will both drop to the bench tomorrow evening.
In the case of Dimarco, Mediaset anticipate that Tottenham Hotspur wingback Destiny Udogie will start on the right flank in the Inter play’s stead.
Meanwhile, in defense, Alessandro Buongiorno will get a chance.
The 25-year-old, who joined Napoli from Torino over the summer, will take the place of Inter’s Bastoni at the heart of the Italy defense.
However, Mediaset predicts, Inter midfielder Frattesi will keep his place in the Azzurri starting eleven.
Frattesi has been a key player for Italy under Spalletti.
The 25-year-old former Sassuolo midfielder is actually the national team’s top scorer under the coach.
Frattesi is particularly important for Italy in the absence of club teammate Nicolo Barella. Barella did not get a call-up this month due to injury.
