Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck is set for a call-up for Germany after impressing against Arsenal in the Champions League.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. They report that a member of Die Mannschaft coach Julian Nagelsmann’s staff was in attendance during yesterday’s match.
Bisseck was in the Inter starting eleven for yesterday evening’s Champions League match against Arsenal.
And it was a highly impressive performance from the 23-year-old.
Bisseck put in a strong defensive display to help Inter keep a clean sheet. He had the tough task of marking Arsenal’s biggest creative threat Bukayo Saka, and did so well.
Bisseck had also previously started against Manchester City in Inter’s Champions League opener in September.
The German has had a few starts for Inter in Serie A this season as well.
There have been a few notable defensive errors from Bisseck. This is an inevitability considering his age and relative experience.
However, the overall trend has been a positive one from the former Aarhus defender.
There is no question that Bisseck has fully won the trust of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
Inter Defender Yann Bisseck Set For Germany Call-Up After Impressing Vs Arsenal
But it’s not only Inzaghi who Bisseck is starting to win over.
FCIN report that there was a member of the Germany national team coaching staff on hand at the San Siro yesterday.
There were a couple of German players on the pitch for this observer to watch.
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has already been a fixture in the Germany setup for a number of years. Therefore, it was natural for Germany coach Nagelsmann to want to keep an eye on him.
But Bisseck has yet to receive a call-up for his national team.
The Inter defender has already captained the Under-21 national side. But never appeared at senior international.
However, that may soon change.
FCIN report that the Germany national team observer was very impressed with what he saw from Bisseck yesterday.
Therefore, it should not be too long before Germany coach Nagelsmann gives him a chance.
The upcoming international break, in fact, should likely present an ideal opportunity.
