Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck has confirmed ongoing contract extension talks after his defensive heroics against Arsenal.

The German spoke to journalists in the mixed zone after the Champions League clash, via FCInterNews. He also reacted to the big victory for the Nerazzurri.

It is no great mystery why Inter would want to secure Bisseck’s future after his performance yesterday evening.

The 23-year-old had a tough job. He was tasked with marking Arsenal’s star man Bukayo Saka.

But Bisseck rose to the challenge. He played a huge role in Inter keeping a clean sheet to win and take three points.

Bisseck had also previously started for Inter against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Therefore, it is very clear that Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi trusts the German even in the biggest matches.

And Bisseck is young enough that he could still improve even further.

Accordingly, performances like yesterday’s will inevitably attract transfer interest in the German.

But recent reports have indicate that Inter are taking steps to tie Bisseck down on a new long-term deal. And the player himself has confirmed that that is the case.

Yann Bissek Confirms Inter Contract Talks After Heroics Vs Arsenal

Bisseck was asked about the contract talks with Inter. He made clear “We’ve been in contact about it, we’re waiting for a response.”

“I hope to seal it soon,” the German said of a new contract with Inter.

Meanwhile, Bisseck admitted that he was playing through pain yesterday, with some rib issues.

“I’m still not 100%,” he said. “But there are zero excuses.”

“Sometimes you have pain. The coach asked me if I had pain, I had pain, but he asked me to continue.”

“I said yes and I continued,” Bisseck said.

The German also gave his thoughts on Inter’s so far flawless record in the Champions League, compared to their struggles to keep clean sheets in Serie A.

“The difference is that we’ve had a bit more luck,” he argued.

“So far we haven’t conceded in the Champions League. We’ve defended as a team.”

“I think it’s also deserved,” Bisseck argued. “And then the bounces have gone our way.”

“But we’ve been very solid. I think we have to leave the match against Juventus in the past.”
