Inter Milan doctor Piero Volpi has delivered a promising fitness update on Hakan Calhangolu amid the star midfielder’s injury scare.
According to Volpi’s interview with Radio Rai Gr Parlamento via FCInterNews, the 30-year-old should return to action soon.
Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a minor physical problem during Turkey’s UEFA Nations League clash against Wales last weekend.
Indeed, Vincenzo Montella had to sub him off before halftime.
Calhanoglu’s first-half withdrawal raised concerns around the Inter camp as he only recently overcame a thigh injury.
As a result, he will be on the sidelines when the Crescent-Stars encounter minnows Montenegro on Tuesday.
Despite being ruled out of Turkey’s upcoming game against Montenegro, he’ll stay with the national team until Wednesday.
Subsequently, he will undergo further checks at Giuseppe Meazza.
However, there’s a realistic chance that will skip Inter’s trip to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi next weekend.
The Nerazzurri will meet Hellas Verona on matchday 13, seeking redemption after a 1-1 home draw against Napoli.

Inter medical staff has already held talks with their Turkish counterparts to understand the extent of Calhanoglu’s injury.
“We are in contact with the medical staff of the Turkish national team and their officials,” Volpi admitted.
“Fortunately, it seems that Hakan’s issue is not particularly serious.
“Upon his return, we will conduct another assessment.
“We hope the recovery time will be as short as possible because he’s one of those players that coaches always want to have available.”
Simone Inzaghi was without Calhanoglu in three consecutive games between October 20 and November 3.
Indeed, the Turkish ace made a late cameo appearance in a 1-0 home win against Venezia at the start of the month.
He then made the starting XI against Arsenal and Napoli before joining his national team last week.
By the looks of things, he’ll be out of Inter’s game against Verona on Saturday.
