Inter Milan defender Carlos Augusto has regained full fitness ahead of the forthcoming Serie A encounter against Hellas Verona.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old will be at Simone Inzaghi’s disposal for Saturday’s trip to Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Following a gut-wrenching 1-1 home draw against Napoli, the defending Serie A champions will be out to make amends.

Stranded a point adrift of Antonio Conte’s table-topping side, albeit level on points with three other sides, Inter can’t afford a slip-up.

However, Inzaghi’s charges have been in scintillating form despite failing to take three points against Napoli.

Indeed, they headed into November’s international break on an intimidating ten-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

That imperious streak includes a 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory against Young Boys on October 23.

Carlos Augusto suffered a muscle strain in that match and has since been unavailable for selection.

But he’s fit again.

The former Monza wingback has skipped Inter’s last five competitive matches.

With him being Inzaghi’s only fallback option on the left, Federico Dimarco has had no time to rest.

Indeed, while waiting for Tajon Buchanan to fully recover from a broken leg, Inzaghi has heavily relied on Dimarco.

Matteo Darmian has occasionally performed as a makeshift left-back, even though he’s right-footed.

But with Augusto back, Inzaghi can rotate his squad again.

He returned to training yesterday as Inter commenced preparations for their match against Verona.

Today, Inzaghi will welcome seven more players back from international duties.

Italy internationals Alessandro Bastoni, Davide Frattesi, Nicolo Barella, and Dimarco are on their way back to Appiano Gentile.

The same goes for Benjamin Pavard, Marcus Thuram, and Marko Arnautovic.

Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez should return tomorrow, with Argentina facing Peru in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier tonight.
