The Italian FA have confirmed an extension for the transfer window for Inter Milan and Juventus participating in the FIFA Club World Cup.

This is confirmed by the FIGC or Italian FA, via FCInterNews. They confirm that the new window will be open to all Italian clubs, and not just the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri.

At the end of this season, Inter and Juventus will be participating in the Club World Cup.

This is the first season in which FIFA has unveiled a new format for the competition. The football governing body has expanded the competition.

Rather than only involving the champions of the major knockout competitions of the confederations in FIFA, the Club World Cup will involve 32 teams in total.

There are two representatives of Serie A in the Club World Cup this season. These are Inter and Juventus.

And then, apart from the expansion of the format of the Club World Cup, FIFA have also changed the timing of the competition.

Rather than taking place midway through the European club season, the Club World Cup will take place at the end of the European campaign.

Italian FA Confirm Extension To Transfer Window For FIFA Club World Cup

Considering the timing of the new format of the Club World Cup, it presents a potential problem for European clubs in view of the transfer window.

Traditionally, the European transfer window starts at the end of June.

Therefore, that is the beginning of when clubs in Europe can register new signings.

However, with the new Club World Cup beginning during the month of June, that will mean that clubs cannot register newly-signed players for the competition.

Therefore, FIFA requested that European football associations extend their transfer windows.

Therefore, there would be more wiggle room for European clubs to sign new players for the competition.

And the Italian FA has confirmed that they will do so.

There will be a new additional transfer window between the first and tenth of June.

This will be open for all Italian clubs, and not just for Inter and Juventus who are participating in the Club World Cup.
