Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto is a doubt for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina due to a muscle problem.

This according to SportItalia transfer market Alfredo Pedulla. He reports that the Brazilian has picked up the problem in training and could miss the match.

Inter are already missing a couple of big names in defense for Sunday’s Serie A match away to Fiorentina.

There is certainly no doubt that Benjamin Pavard will be out. The Frenchman is expected to be on the sidelines for a few weeks with a thigh strain.

Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi is just coming back from a thigh strain of his own. The Italian international is back in full training today.

However, it is not yet certain that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will want to risk Acerbi as early as Sunday.

And now, Pedulla reports, there is another potential injury problem for Inzaghi to deal with.

According to Pedulla, Augusto has picked up a muscle problem in training.

There is not currently any indication that it is a serious injury for Augusto. It could just be some minor muscle fatigue.

However, Pedulla reports, Augusto is in doubt for Sunday’s match.

This could leave Inzaghi with one fewer option available on the left flank.

Augusto had been out for several matches prior to the November international break with a thigh strain.

The 25-year-old returned after the break, however. he started against Hellas Verona last weekend.
