Inter Milan defender Francesco Acerbi and wingback Carlos Augusto are both big fitness doubts to face Fiorentina.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter take on Fiorentina in Serie A tomorrow evening.
And the Nerazzurri and La Viola go into the match level on points in the league table.
At the start of the weekend, Inter and Fiorentina are just a point behind league leaders Napoli. As are Lazio and Atalanta.
Therefore there is a feeling that tomorrow’s match could have major implications for the title race.
And Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be without a couple of notable players as he looks to pick his team for the match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Carlos Augusto & Francesco Acerbi Out For Fiorentina Vs Inter Clash
Firstly, defender Acerbi is currently coming back from a thigh strain.
The 36-year-old picked up the problem during last Saturday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona.
And according to the Gazzetta, there is still significant doubt around whether Acerbi will be able to return tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Augusto is suffering from a minor thigh problem.
The issue is with the Brazilian’s right thigh, rather than the left thigh that he injured in a match against Young Boys in the Champions League last month.
Therefore, there is not too much worry about Augusto being out for long.
But tomorrow is likely to be too early for the former Monza wingback to play.
