On-loan Empoli striker Sebastiano Esposito isn’t ruling out a return to Inter Milan at the end of this season.

Esposito spoke in a press conference after helping Empoli to the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia, as reported by FCInterNews.

This season, Esposito has been on loan with Empoli.

This is the first loan in Serie A for the 22-year-old.

Previously, Esposito has had loan spells abroad and in Serie B. He has played for the likes of SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, and Sampdoria over the past few seasons.

But the move to a team in Serie A seems to have worked out well for Esposito.

Under Roberto D’Aversa, Esposito has been a regular in the Empoli starting eleven.

And the Inter-owned striker has played his part as the Tuscans have established a foothold for themselves in the Serie A midtable as they aim to stave off relegation for another season.

Meanwhile, Empoli knocked their derby rivals Fiorentina out of the Coppa Italia on penalties yesterday.

And it was actually Esposito’s equalizing goal which set up the shootout.

Empoli Striker Sebastiano Esposito Not Ruling Out Inter Return: “We’ll Sort It Out In May”

As far as his future, Esposito was somewhat coy and stressed ignoring the gossip.

“I have to be careful,” the 22-year-old said. “I avoid reading the transfer articles.”

Esposito noted, “I made my debut for Inter.”

The young striker had come through the youth ranks at the Nerazzurri before making his first team debut under Antonio Conte in the 2019-20 season.

“I spent years in the youth ranks there. And I also played in the Champions League.

Esposito said that “Inter have given me a lot.”

“Right now I can’t think about it though,” the 22-year-old said of his future, and his focus on Empoli.

“In May we’ll look at the situation and sort it out.”
