Carlos Augusto is back from injury for Inter Milan, but is unlikely to start this evening’s Serie A showdown against Parma.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
In the end, Augusto only missed about fifteen minutes of football.
The Brazilian pulled out of the squad for Sunday’s Serie A match away to Fiorentina. This was due to a slight thigh problem.
However, that match came to a shock halt after fifteen minutes due to a medical injury.
And in the meantime, Augusto has already put his injury behind him. He is back in full training and will be in the squad against Parma this evening.
Carlos Augusto Back – Won’t Start For Inter Vs Parma Though
Augusto’s availability will be important for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.
The former Monza defender has the versatility to back up either Federico Dimarco or Alessandro Bastoni.
Both from the start and with substitutions, Inzaghi will have far greater room to manoeuvre with squad rotation.
But that doesn’t mean that the Inter coach will put Augusto straight back into the team this evening.
The 25-year-old could certainly feature as a substitute. But Inzaghi is going with the same eleven that started against Fiorentina last Sunday.
Three points to get back on track in Serie A is an absolute priority for the Nerazzurri coach.
The Corriere’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven to face Parma is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro
